So, I get impulsive and I just decide to do stuff on my car. Since I am learning as I go, and I learn much better just doing it, I sometimes fix things without knowing the right name for it. It also so happens, I break things without knowing the name of it.

So, I take the carb off, get almost everything off perfectly, and then I break the rubber hose coming out the front. I look at a bunch of diagrams for the carb, and I can't find a label for it anywhere. So, can someone tell me what its called?

And can someone tell me how to NOT spill gas all over the place taking the carb off next time. Its nice to know that oil evaporates, or I would never start that car again.

All this from deciding it would be fun to rebuild the carb today.

And man, is this picture posting system cumbersome.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Well your little carb used to have an aluminum tube that was replaced by an adapter and a rubber hose. The fuel spillage was due to your fuel pump which fills the carb bowl. It is under pressure. About 6.5 PSI. Good thing is that your pump is working!!! :D

When I rebuild the carb the first thing I look for is the pressure. No pressure then look at the pump before I touch the carb!
