A couple of days ago my passenger window decided to stop rolling down. The switch on the drivers side doesn't work at all, but the switch on the passenger side only works when you push up. You can hear and feel the motor engage. I've taken the door panel off and confirmed that the motor does work, at least going up. I've tried switching the switches from the working drivers side window (as the drivers window works perfectly) and still nothing. Suggestions? Also the door locks don't work when the drivers door is open. Once I open the door more than a quarter of the way the locks stop responding. Upon discovering this I tried to lock and unlock the doors from the passengers side lock switch, the passengers side stops working too when the drivers door is open. But the unlock switches work when the drivers door is closed and passenger door is open. Maybe some binding of wires in the driver door that have caused both problems?

I had the same issue with a 97 Cobra found broken wires inside the boot between the body and the door

That's what I'm fearing. Anyway to easily get at it without cutting it off?
I was in the process of changing the door, I had to remove all the wires from the switches in the door , when I took the boot out that's when I found the broken wires...it's not all that difficult to remove the door just unbolt the hinges, just be sure to realign it when you put it back on

Ya just went into the garage and started pressing against the wires in the boot. And both the locks and windows started working. Door removal is pretty easy, at least removing one from the junk yard was haha. But now worried about getting at the wires and fixing it. Thank a lot!

Glad to help, now if I can just figure out my sons 96 mustang electrical issues ....

Just an update, real time pictures of the wiring from the back of the power window switch. The arrow points to where it worked for the one red wire which had came off on mines. Goes down under and connects, thought pictures could help someone one day.
