Some of you may have seen my other thread about going with a SBC in my mustang, but due to AJE prices going up, it will be more cost effective to build a SBF. It won't be just a hopped up 302. This is what I have planned thus far:

351W block 9.200" deck height (don't know which block yet)
4.030" bore
4.100" stroke
205cc Heads with 58cc chamber
Felpro .04" head gasket (in that ballpark)

I was on summit earlier and they have a kit for a 418CI. With 4.100" stroke and pistons for 4.030". Forged everything. The part I'm questioning is that I don't know how much the piston will play a part. I just did a quick CID and CR test from CUBIC INCH CALCULATOR and COMPRESSION RATIO and it was 418 CI, and about 12.9:1 CR. I know the piston dish, relief and such will play a part, but I don't know how much it will. Any input for this would be helpful.

Also any recommendations will be appreciated on which block, which rotating assembly kit, yada yada yada. Those are the dimensions that I will build to.

Thanks.
