Adam thought your photo was a radiator hose. So did I, actually. Now I see that it is your radiator water neck. Either way, Adam is right - it looks like rust. I have rust in the coolant in my Cobra conversion - comes back even after I flush the coolant. I would recommend doing a coolant flush, then use two bottles of Rust Fix from Prestone. It's supposed to coat the bare metal and prevent it from rusting further.

true Adam,head gaskets are cheap,but it's the time and labor replacing them that's the killer.
even though i love working on my car,i'd hate replacing something like that and not having the cash too upgrade while i'm at it:mad:
