quick question about double hook quadrant

do i have to have to have a firewall adjuster if i install a double hook quad with a new factory ford non adjustable cable

yes, removing the stock quadrant will get rid of the self adjusting mechanism.

you will need a FWA or adjustable cable to adjust the cable

no but the only adjustment you will have it between the 2 hooks on the quad.

Both are right. Roland is right by definition and FF is correct in practice. It'd be pure luck to have the adjustment be correct with only having hooks as adjusting mechanisms.
You could use shims under the cable grommet (at the firewall) but that's just too retarded considering that FWA's are not that costly.

thanks guys I was given the the quad by a buddy. So i will just order a fwa & do it up right as soon as i get that dam pawl off By the way thanks for the feed back I have made a few posts to no avail but i am the new guy but Stangnet is awsome thanks again

it sucks to remove the factory quad takes about an hour
