Removing spray-paint.

The previous owner of my car had some interior parts "chromed" zinc yellow. The dealer had painted over it with really crappy spray paint and it's starting to chip off. I tried polishing it with some high-grit polish but it didn't do anything. I was wondering if it'd be safe to use paint thinner(maybe dilluted)...I was thinking about trying it on a small, unnoticeable location and seeing how it comes out

no the paint thinner will "melt" the plastic. At least it did for me when I tried to fix a goof when I painted mine. Hit up the junkyard or 50resto.com to buy new ones

Only other thing I can think of is using a coarse grit sand paper, then stepping down to a wet sand grade paper and try to smooth them out. Good luck

Go to an automotive paint store and see what they've got-off the top of my head I can't think of what I want to tell you to try, it's not called a thinner though....
