removing throttle cable

I'm pulling my motor, and I can't figure out the easiest way to remove the throttle linkage.

Somebody suggested, "Pry the cable off the bottom of the throttle body lever (snaps on and off) using a screw driver, than remove the 2 bolts that bolt onto the throttle body, cruise and throttle cable will stay as one unit and remove easily."

I'm being stupid here, but I don't understand the advice. It seems that on my '89 V8, if you snap off the cable from the attachment to the throttle body, it is still attached to another part of the throttle body from which it can't be removed. Can someone maybe show me a photo of where I'm supposed to remove the cable? Do you d/c the cable at the pedal as well? The shop manual is unclear as well, and it's dealing with complete removal of the cable, not just d/c it for engine removal.

That part "from which it can't be removed" is the one held on with two 10mm bolts. Take that off and the whole cable/bracket assembly is now free of the TB and intake.
