well. i finally got the time to go and look WHY my belt broke on the way home from work at night 
turns out every pulley spins EXCEPT THE SMOG PUMP.
i guess the sucker froze up on me.
oh well. nothing that i need. saves me money from replacing power steering pump or water pump.
according to this diagram that was posted. (below) i need a 84.5" belt.. but it says the lengths vary from one stock mustang to another. so if anybody else has a '86 like me, and happens to know. please inform me
id only like to make one trip to discount auto
(since i have to borrow cars)
