Okay so no promises but this worked for me.
Smog pump was very loud, blew out with air, no love so proceeded to take apart.
Simple vane type pump, appeared to be rubbing, bearings dry.
Cleaned up wearing areas with 60 then 150 then 400 sandpaper (no photos of before)
Proceeded to grease shaft and bearings, used white lithium grease on vanes.
And finished product.
She doesn't exactly purr like a kitten but definitely not as bad as before. Bearable to drive and can't hear anything beyond second gear. Almost sounds like a gear drive set lol. Beats spending 70 in a pinch, took about 1 hour (with air tools).
