The stock sender had a harness that clipped into it. Is this the VSS clip-in even though I do not have cruise control? I replaced my sender with an autometer sender for an electronic speedo, and was planning on just zip tying this up under the car as I now have no place to connect it.

yeah thats the vehicle speed sensor. either the car used to have cruise, or someone put a speedo cable with a VSS connector on it.
