We have a new employee at work. I am going to complain to management that he is stinking up the place with his smelly armpits. Is it legal for management to require he wear deoderant?? PPEEEEEUUUUUUU!!!

My senior year of college I had an internship with a semi-conductor company. They farmed the vast majority of the grunt work out to India, so we had 4 guys from India over here to coordinate back and forth. We had the same issue with the body odor... management took them back and explained professional norms in the States, which they had no idea of, and that took care of it. From the managers point of view, if the worker makes the workplace an uncomfortable environment to anyone, then the situation has to be addressed.

Its just a cultural thing. From what I saw as a lowly intern, they were all very good workers and exceptionally polite (more polite than we are!) and adapted without an issue.
