Stock Block or Mexican Block?

My goal is to build a 400rwhp motor but I am a little worried about the stock block, Are the Mexican blocks that much stronger than a stock block, where would I be able to find and what is a good price? What all has to be changed to use a Mexican block? Thanks for any Help

A stock block will handle 400 whp as long as you take the proper precautions like a main stud girdle ect. Dont use your money on a hard to find mexican block when you don't need it.

Theres a mexican block on ebay right now... saw it this morning. But I would just go stock

A stock block handles 400rwhp just fine, as long as you pick your parts and assemble it properly.
A girdle does nothing but waste your money.

ran 400rwhp for a long time on a bone stock block even with a stock cam.

What if down the road I wanted to do more then 400, say 450-500 would the mexican block allow room to grow.

Yes, I'd feel better with a mexican block at 500rwhp. Still, stock blocks have made that kind of power, too.

I agree with 2000xp8, girdle is a waste of money, all they do is keep your block together, after they've blown up. There are thousands of 400rwhp mustangs out there running stock blocks
