strange noise

Hey guys,

Ever since I put my supercharger back on I've been getting a "gurgle" sound. It sounds like it's coming from my air filter...and I can't hear it in my exhaust.

It only happens when ever I get up to shifting rpms, ~2500 or so (it does it more the higher it spins) and then let off the gas. Until I press the gas it just gurgles...but once I press the gas it goes away.

At first I thought I was running rich....but I don't know how I'd hear that in the air intake and not the exhaust.

Any suggestions?

oh yeah, I have a powerpipe and my oil fill hose runs to a barb before the supercharger if that helps anyone.

Detonation can sound like a gurgling. What size injectors are you running?

it only does it when I'm off the throttle so I don't think it's detonation.

I have 42s and got a decent maf tune with my tweecer....It feels like it has plenty of power...just an annoying sound.

Hmmmm....I just noticed I had a vacuum line that wasn't connected to my bypass valve.

I'm thinking this noise I'm hearing is a case of compressor surge.

Time to get a vac hose and see if it works.

Hey, one more question

That noise was because of that bypass valve vacuum line...I put that on there and now my car runs like crap....WAY to lean until I get to about 3000 rpm.

How bad would it be to run a supercharger without a bypass valve? I'm only running around 8 lbs of boost. I've heard compressor surge isn't good...but it ran 100 times better without that vacuum line.
