(I cant figure out why I cant edit and insert the pictures where I want. Frustrating. What does this happen?)
Don't know what got in to me but I recently ordered some stuff.
1) Used '89 Tilt Column from ebay
2) Grant Formula 1 Steering Wheel 1066 and install kit
3) Column bezel
4) Console arm rest pad
5) Map pocket delete kit
My map pockets were sagging so bad they were getting caught in the sill and ripping up the weather strip at the bottom of the door.
When I install the column, I think I'll remove the button on underside that prevents you from pulling the key out. I also want to bypass the clutch switch that prevents engine cranking unless the clutch is depressed.
The column I got is complete with stock 89 wheel and cruise buttons. I'll be removing the buttons from the wheel and devising a plan to install them somehow to keep cruise functional. My factory airbag column will come out completely assembled and be stored as a unit with airbag in case I need to put it back in at some point.
I think Ill put cruise on/off button hidden on the side of the console at the front corner of the seat. On/off doesn't need to be front and center and this location will be an easy reach with thumb
The resume/accel/coast button will go on top of the console sideways just in front of the ash tray door. Easy reach with first and middle finger when arm is resting on console pad.
