The title and my user name pretty much lay out my plans.
Yesterday I bought a '70 Mustang coupe shell for $500. I'm also buying a wrecked '03 CV PI that had a short life as a taxi for $100. It was, sadly, T-boned at the left rear door and got frame damage.
The Crown Vic has been sitting at Police impound for 3 or 4 years, at least. I took a jump box out and cranked the motor just to make sure it wasn't seized and it's not. I didn't want to try to start it as the gas is likely pure varnish. Even though there's only about 135k on the thing I'm going to rebuild the motor and tranny since it's been sitting so long.
I was planning on stuffing the entire powertrain/drivetrain into the Mustang, I was told by the previous owner that it had a Ford 9" installed. That put a smile on my face.
I'm not quite ready to start a build thread, but hopefully soon.
I'm curious as to whether anybody here has stuffed a 4.6 into a 46 year old mustang around here.
