Stupid question, thinking out loud

Ok I know after doing my truck engine that if you bore a block .030 it adds 5 cubes. My 360 went to a 365.


That being said in theory a 351 bored .030 would be a 356.


NOW the real question if you had a 351 bored .030 over to a 356 then added a 408 stroker would it be a 413?

I get the 413 because a 408 stroker "adds" 57 cubes to the 351 sooo 356+57=413

Am I right on this or WAYYYYY off?

The way to figure displacement is to use this formula:

Bore*bore*stroke*.7854*number of cylinders

so, 4.03*4.03*4*.7854*8 = 408

to get a 413 with a 4" stroke, you'd need a 4.053 bore.

Yeah all the stroker sizes are .030 over. 331, 347, 393, 408, 418, 427, etc.

yes the stroke determines the cubic inch increase from an over bore, a .030 over 351 is closer to a 357

OH I thought a 408 was a stock bore 351 just with a different crank
