No way to disable it. You can thank Uncle Sam for that as it is a Federal law for new cars to have TPMS. At least that's what I've heard....
If it does not go off on its own, I'm sure there is a way to reset it.

Not uncle Sam's fault....blame your fellow citizens that lease cars and don't care about maintenance.....run their tires bald and never check their air pressure...I see it all day long at the shop....if they just put a little care into their vehicle they wouldn't blow tires and flip over and kill people. 
Have you checked the pressure with a reliable gauge? Are you running stock wheels/tires? If so, you'll need to take it in for service.

While it's always a good idea to make sure you spare is inflated, the spare does not have a TPMS sensor in it. If it did, the light would always be on. The sensors do not "wake up" until they reach a certain speed, I believe around 20 MPH. They need to be rotating at that speed for that to happen.
