SVT Registry & Removable Hardtop Question

Kids -

Not sure if you all know about this out there, but I just found an SVT registry on the web (http://myroadtrip.net/svt/index.html) and it has some fattie 94-95 cars (a few).

It got me to thinking though... Does anyone know:
1) if it is possible to get a removable hardtop anymore (I doubt it)?
2) What were they made of (steel I assume)?
3) Are there any aftermarket variations out there?
4) Would it be possible (as in do-able) to cut off the top of a regular-a$$ coupe and use it has a hardtop? I love junkyards.

My root cause for the thread is shedding lbs. I don't really like the look of the convert top, like the coupe look better, but like having a vert for nice summer days.

Thanks all!

if you are looking to shed lbs then a hardtop is not a good choice. you are looking at adding about 150-200lbs to the very top of your car.

fwiw i keep my hardtop in storage now cuz the car does so much better without it. if you want a coupe body line then get a coupe--less total weight and more rigidity. if you like the top down fun then get used to the weight.
