T 5- T 45 shifter in a 2004 GT

Will a pre 2004 aftermarket mustang shifter fit a 2004 GT ?. conflicting info out their. One U tube video said just swap original plastic bushing from old shifter to the new aftermarket shifter ?. Some sellers say T 5-- T 45 shifter will not fit 2004 GT trans.

No. Around mid 2001 Ford switched to the T-3650 in the GT.

So 94-95 were t-5
96- mid 01 were t-45
And late 01-04 were t-3650

Only t5 and t45 shifters are the same. 3650 is a different setup
