T5 Gear Shopping

I hope there is a T5 guru here than can help me. I need to replace 1st and 2nd gear in my 1990 GT T5 during my rebuild. I accidently bought a 2.3L t5 first gear from a 048 counter gear trans. Now gotta try to sell that. I am shopping used and alot of times people don't know what they have, and I don't know what i'm looking for. My trans is missing the ID tag but I'm rather certian it is origional with this car but was rebuilt before. Can anyone help me with knowing what I'm looking for?

How many teeth should I be looking for?

Does it have to be from a trans with the 065/068 counter gears or are there swaps that can happen?

Should I be looking for a part number or sequence on these used gears to let me know I have the correct part?

Thanks for any and all information, I want to try to do this trans myself but I don't want to spend 325 bucks on new gears, might as well buy an already rebuild unit at that price point.

Do you know for sure that you have a 065/068 countergesr or just assuming based on year of t5?

The gears are matched to the countergear and tooth counts vary. I think I have an 065 gearset I could try and pull a number off. Give me a few.

Here you go. This is an 068 cluster, which is what you should have. I would confirm first before ordering though

this gear matches to the following gears
Input Shaft 1352-085-025 9.25" or 1352-085-052 10" length 23 teeth
3rd gear 1352-080-151 26 teeth
2nd gear 1352-080-152 31 teeth
1st gear 1352-080-030 34 teeth

I looked through my T5 parts pile and confirm the same part numbers for the gears for my 065 countergear. (all are junk)

This is incredible, thank you so much. I've been googling this info for days! I will have to count my teeth to be sure thats what I have already.

I just opened her up and counted the teeth, #1 is 34 and #2 is 31. Seems to all match up. Also has a number stamped in it C52030, not sure if it means anything but I feel confident now on what I'm working with........now to try to sell this nearly new gear I bought.....ugh thanks mustang5L5, you're a good egg!
