Drivetrain T5 Z-Spec 5 Speed

I have a new T5 Z-Spec 5 Speed installed on my 91 lx 5.0, is it ok to gear down when slowing down? is it bad for this T5? does it screw up the synchros? or is it just better to put the shifter in neutral and use your brakes? I know power shifting will hurt it badly so I will not do that. it goes into the gears now like butter I have the pro 5.0 Tower Shifter and I have 4.10s it is so smooth. 1st gear I can use cuz it's 2.95 it's so awesome this T5.

Proper down shifting helps slow the car and saves brakes.
Just don't down shift into 2nd gear at 60mph!

Downshifting is fine if you do it properly. Clutch in, shift to a lower gear, blip throttle to rev match. Clutch out.
