ok here is what i am running march31st at the first annual stampede/wildhorses march madness.

i have already

open 2.5" x 20" pipes
cams retarded 8.5 degrees
granitelli lower CA's with 1" lower and the right rear 1/2" pre loaded
lakewood 90/10's
moroso 250lb/in 14" front springs for FOX's
11" short runner 5.4 3v intake with 3 1/4" x 3 1/8 opening (stock is 3") with adapted 03-04 cobra inlet and throttle body

gearing on the way either... 3.73,4.11 or 4.30's

i figure i have another 30+ rw / 10-20 rwtq over the dyno @ 5000-5500

here is the question. i have 255 50-16 BFG DR2's 9.7" contact patch and 25.9" tall.

i am considering going with 275 50-15 mickey thompson ET drag radials they have a 10" contact with 26" height.

i really need an expert to tell me if it's worth it. i really need to win the first race.

no wheel spin. i guess i could go with ET streets with tubes, but i want to drive it occasionally. this is giving me a lot of trouble deciding.

thanks -bill

the first race is against a 05 gt with -all motor 345rwhp and 332 rwtq. and all of the goodies. he hooks bad though and weighs more.

him= 345rwhp @ 6500 / 332rwtq @ 4500 weight ~3900 (he is heavy)
me=~290rwhp@5500 / ~360rwtq @ 4000 weight 3452

I'd imagine the ET streets have a softer compound. There was a thread on here not too long ago that someone had stated the M/T's dont tend to last as long as the BFG's. Not sure of where they got that or their credibility.

I have seen the E/T streets, and I can say they sure look to be a VERY soft compound. Surely if your looking for the absolute best you can get, the E/T streets are gonna be the way to go even if you go by specs alone, which you listed above.

The MT DR's last 5 times longer that the BFG's......I used BFG's once and only got 3000-4000 miles off of them.....the last 2 pairs of MT's had lots of Drag use/ 2nd gear burnouts and 12000-14000 miles of use and cut alot better 60ft times.....MT's are no comparrison to BFG's. Oh and the MT's handles good in the rain too compared to the BFG's. At 40-45 MPH in the rain the BFG almost made me crap my pants.....the MT's however........70mph in the rain and new lost tracktion.....unless there was a puddle....
