Tired of giving my hood CPR. Suggestions?

My hood raises up in the back on the left rear corner when I drive down the road. At the drag strip it is a lot worse at 90 mph. I am always pushing it back down because it looks bad if left out of alignment. I have oiled the hinges which made the problem worse. I adjusted the mounting points as described in last months Mustang magazine with no improvment. I replaced the spring which an aftermarket one which is a lot weaker so it makes it worse than the original spring. The other side is OK and does not move and is in good alignment. Has anyone experienced this problem and came up with a cured for it?

My maverick does that. I think it is the hinge assembly itself that gets loose and lifts.

yeah,your hinge is bad.

mine do the same thing....and always have...its annoying. So the hinge needs to be replaced?

the hinges have some type of rivet and it gets worn.Youll notice if you open your hood all the way,there's still some movement,weather its sisde to side to up and down.Mine do the same,but it doesnt bother me.

I wonder if I can repair the hinges? Maybe AMK would have the rivets?

You might try taking the hinge out of the car and put it in a vise. Crank down some pressure on the loose rivet reinstall and repeat if necessary.

I do.

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a wooden handle used for the paint rollers. Cut it to the desired length and use it when the hood needs to be up.
