Nothing spectacular, but I thought I would share my little project. For the last several years I have been bumming a car hauler from friends. I made it a point to buy one this year, but couldn't afford $2k+ for a decent one. Most used ones brought close to new. Also, I needed something pretty light as my F150 has a 4.6 in it.
After months of looking I settled on a budget, entry level trailer. It has a tongue and main frame made of c channel and the floor frame is made of angle. Not the most heavy duty, but light weight and affordable. It has 2 3500# axles, dove tail and brakes on 1 axle. I bought it as short as I could for weight savings, 16 feet.
The fenders are too high and do not allow the doors on my car to open. I really didn't like the idea of nailing more wood down to raise the floor height, so I decided to make the fender removable. I still have to go back and add some good paint and touch up the pinstriping. We also added a few LED lights with a weatherproof switch wires into the 7 pin.
