Hi guys, I have a Tranny dipstick in my 95 gt 5.0 i've never seen before til I got this car:eek:. I'm confused :O_o: on how to read it. The last 2 pix are when the car was cold. I pulled out the dipstick cleaned it off, reinserted it and took the pic's of both sides. The top 2 pix where taken after I ran the car for 25min., put in in PARK, wiped off dipstick and reinserted it, and with my foot on the brake put the shifter thru each gear and back up to PARK with the car idling.
My question is do I need to add Tranny fluid or not? The cold reading has both sides of the dipstick covered with fluid, making me think I don't need to add any. The reading with the engine hot has little to no fluid on either side of the dipstick making me think I need to add Tranny fluid. If I need to add fluid.....how do I know how much to add?
My last car had hash marks on the dipstick that I could tell how much to add depending on where the fluid was in hash mark. Thanks for reading. Any help is much appreciated.

The only reading that is relevant is when it's hot and car is running. When the car is off some of the fluid for the torque converter and valve body drain back in the pan.

The fluid should be right in the middle of the hot mark after running 25 mins and in park or neutral. It's hard to read that kind of stick. Some people add until it's at the full hot mark...but if the trans overheats, for whatever reason, it'll swell to over full.
