I have an 88 n/a 2.3 vert, auto, and I plan on driving it cross country (from nh to california) this summer. Shes got about 109k miles, runs great and shifts fine but I hear this trans is prone to getting too hot even with the stock transcooler built into the radiator. So I would like to mount a decent sized cooler of my own (still retain the stock one as well, and probably just a simple temp gauge for it all. Question is, has anyone mounted one in their 2.3 stangs? And where did you mount it, and how did you route the new lines etc, any details. I figure up front somewhere in the bottom portion of the bumper where it would see plenty of air, however I do not want to block the radiator if possible. thanks guys
