Transmission problems...

This is actually a question for a friend...92 z28 with 700r tranny. The problem is it wont shift right when in drive. Full throttle it accels slow and shifts early and when its suppose to shift to overdrive it wont. Then, when you let off the gas its like the clutches disingage and the rpms drop to about 1200.

But the wierd part is if you shift it manual like leave it in 1 and shift to 2 and D it is all normal, shifts hard, accels hard. Except Overdrive which still wont work right. I know its a chevy but I thought a person with tranny knowledge could help me out...any ideas?

it might be your clutch packs head a friend with a similar problem on his 91 camaro and it was the clutch packs that where messed up

the tranny needs a rebuild... there is a small valve that shifts the tranny at any given RPM. Once that valve wears, it may shift early, harder, slip, or not shift at all... A rebuild replaces that and all the gaskets.. That should do it..
