Transmission REALLY stiff first thing in the mornings

I have an issue where the shifter on my 2005 GT is really stiff first thing in the mornings to the point where I have to put all my strength to get it into the gears for the first 5 min of driving. After that, and when the car has warmed up, it's like butter in each gear. I think this sounds like a fluid issue in the transmission in that the gears are not properly lubricated until the transmission has warmed up. I don't think that it would be linkage related, because the problem goes away after driving.

My thought is that the Tremec 5 speed is a POS. I had the same problem including the occasional grind/clash from 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 when cold. Even when warm it was temperamental in its quality of shifting and I felt it was the biggest limiting factor in my car's performance. I tried synthetic ATF, 2 aftermarket shifters, and nothing seemed to help.

Be happy yours shifts like butter when it's warmed up!!
