The trunk lock chatters repeatably when activating via key fob, actually the lock is cycling for about 3 seconds.
not sure if it is the relay or the trunk lock or something else?
That's funny you brought this up. I was finishing up replacing my rear speakers last weekend & my 05 it did the same thing. I shut the trunk & it kept opening. When I started the car it stopped. I shut it off & tried my spare key fob & it didn't do it. Could it be the button sticking on the fob? I will see if I can repeat it.
Lubricate the crap out it with silicon spray (Yellow WD40) and run it through. Remove, inspect, and clean wire plugs. If that doesn't work, replace the latch:
That doesn't make a ton of sense to me because the transmission from the FOB is digital (not analog). That thought aside, you might disassemble the failing remote and replace the battery and also clean the contacts on the face of the circuit board beneath the button pad.
Contact cleaner and a tooth-brush would work fine. Parts stores carry the cleaner, usually.
