I've had this issue with both my 65 and my 66 ponies, so I always thought it was a "mustang thing", but now that it's finally bugging me to a new level, I can't find where anyone else has the problem! ...the story of my life.

My turn signals routinely over-cancel. Following a left turn, the blinker cancels and the begins to blink right. Following a right turn, the blinker cancels and then begins to blink left.

I replaced the nylon cam on my 65 years ago, but it did not solve the problem.

Help! I'm losing what little mind I have left, always checking to see which direction my blinker is flashing!

I don't remember seeing any nylon ones? I could be wrong though but I think its metal and just pushes onto the steering wheel unless you've gone to an aftermarket wheel? but yes it can be out of position. It should click to cancel about 90 degrees of wheel movement but stay in blinking mode til you start returning the wheel back. Yeah I think your canceling cam is in the wrong position.
