Twilight Zone, TN.
In about a month, I'm gonna replace the clutch in my 86. Due to budget constraints, I'm gonna go w/ the KC clutch from Ford. Seems that is about the best bang for the buck - and I do not want a killer pedal. The pedal is super stiff now and I hate it.

I need some help w/ a few questions:

- Where is the best place to get a KC kit? Summit says $209

- Do I need a new flywheel? (mine has been turned before)

- Are the summit short throw shifters any good? I've got a Pro 5.0, but it is very sloppy now (age)

Thanks.

Your super stiff pedal could be the clutch cable. Mine started binding up and made the pedal extremely stiff. Replacing teh cable solved it.

I have the KC clutch also - great choice!

cable could still be routed wrong.

this guy works for a ford dealership in NC. hes where i get all my ford/fms stuff. always has the best prices ive found.

Just out of ignorant curiousity, what is the scoop on the shifter Sammich?

In the last two years of being on this site when it comes to shifters, it comes up everytime as being just as good if not better than Pro 5.0. I've never heard anything bad from anyone who has one.
