Veft top problem

My '00 GT (60,000 miles) top comes up at an angle at first, as if the drivers side is not powered properly. Once up about 2 feet, it levels out and all is fine. Dropping it is fine. This is the same on a friends '01 V6. Any suggestions? Did a search and found nothing relating.

maybe your top motor is going...i had to replace mine after about 6 years.

The problem is that one of the cables inside the top rails that makes the top move has stretched. You will need to take the car to a convertible top shop and have the cables re-adjusted. It should not be very expensive. My GT was always like that, I just lived with it...
