I had the pony grill emblem from my '01 still in the garage, so I shot it with some black rustoleum & then used the touch up mystichrome paint to do the rest. I know it would look better if I sprayed it instead of brushing it, but with just the touch up bottle what can you do. I also painted the brackets for the hood shocks the same way.
Here is the pic.
I am thinking it would look better if I shot some sort of clear coat on it. A buddy of mine suggested to maybe wet sand it first to get it smoother from brushing the paint on. Does this sound like a good idea?
I figured since the emblem was just sitting around I'd give it a shot.
BTW, the mystichrome touch up paint worked great. I had a couple of small spots that needed touched up along the door sill area, the paint blends in very nice. I had a white Cobra before, probably the hardest color to touch up. Glad to see the mystichrome will not be like that.
So what do you think? Opinions?
