What is the oil baffle on the intake?

Is it the "sheild" underneath the lower intake on the bottom side (top of intake if looking at from front of engine)...it is right underneath where the pvc hose and valve connects into the grommet...is that it?...

Just to keep oil from being flung into the PVC, which is mainly designed for aerosol fumes, not actual oil.

the PCV will be clogged up unless your mill is super fresh. we pass enough oil to really goo stuff up.

Without the baffle under the intake, you will end up sucking a quart of oil every three or four days...............not good.
