I'm removing the heat from my car, so i won't need this rail anymore. So what is this sensor for? Will it hurt anything if i remove it?

Rocky is right. Just go to autozone and look for a hose that will let you bypss the heater core. I thought there was a specific one made just for that but when I looked for it I never found it and had to jerry rig one. Keep in mind the top and bottom tubing are different sizes.

There are no sensors that you can remove without upsetting the computer. If Ford could have made the engine
run good and save $10 a car, they would have done it. $10 times 1 million cars is a lot of money.

Here's a book that will get you started with how the Ford electronic engine control or "computer" works.

Ford Fuel Injection & Electronic Engine Control 1988-1993 by Charles Probst :ISBN 0-8376-0301-3.

It's about $25 from Borders.com see http://www.amazon.com/ . Select boo...that to splice the two heater hoses together.
