I bought the car when I was about 17 and it was in bad shape except for the engine (428CJ). It was the second car that I did body work on and painted so it was OK but for a 17 year old it was fun to drive. I started to actually restore it in the 90s but the girls came along and other projects like work got in the way and it sat until about 4 years ago.

Now it is almost finished and we are looking at some of the details. I am not a purist so hopefully that does not upset too many people so I am fixing it up to drive and upgrading brakes and other equipment. I am down to picking wheels and am having trouble finding wheel tire combination that I like. As best I can tell 245/45R17 is a recommended size but I bought one and put it on an 8"/4.5 backset wheel and it looks way too small. After measuring it looks like 245/45R18 would work on the front and 255/45R18 would work on the back. What do you like on your cars?

I went with a look closer to classic big 225/15/70 on front. 235/15/70 in the back mounted on satin chrome magnum 500. Your engine is way bigger than my 351w so you might want the room for big brakes.
