When Porting the E7TE Head...

When cleaning up the exhaust ports on the E7TE heads, how much of the Thermactor bumps do you remove? All of it?

Thanks, that is exactly the kind of things I am scared of. I was looking mainly to clean up the ports without really enlarging anything, but that bump has the whole exhaust port clogged up and Fords were never known for great exhaust flow even before those bumps on the port's roof.

well if your too nervous to remove it all the way, get it as close as your comfortable with, and round it up, blend, smooth, whatever ya wanna call it.....just try and think of limiting turbulence........think if it was flowing water, whats the best, easiest least turbulent way to move it thru the port...then try and do that.

it takes MANY hours to do a set of e7's well. i will never do it again. too much rusty boogers afterward.
