As soon as I could I took my 86 to the track. First race was against a dodge diesel. I was thinking man that thing has to be slow as chit. Uhhh proceeds to out run me by 2.5 seconds in 1/4(low 12's. vs my mid 14). I learned to respect diesels from then on.
Your car will probably run around a low 13 to high 12(with a good tire etc). Depends on a lot of other info but that's my guess. Also 24's with a matching maf is the better way to go but isn't mandatory for the combo.

I've seen multiple 11 second diesels at the track, and YouTube is littered with race prepped ones going in the 9's.
They are heavy, but they are built to be indestructible and come with a power adder already in place.
