Ok, so i have this little computer that hooks up to my car taht i can run 0-60 times and the 1/4 times. I ran the 1/4 3 times only recored the last two here they are.. kinda slower than i expected...

60'-2.42
1/4-15.72
speed-89

60'- 2.36
1/4-15.83
speed-91

on the second one the road was really bad hince slower than first.

on the first one i spun the tires in first..

but what i have is a 97 NONPI automatic vert. with only o/r x and mac flowpaths with a drop in K&N filter

the x pipe is not hurting your performance or low end one bit. Thats garbage. Learn to drive your car, get some traction, and dont use the old school gadgets(whatever they call them) because they dont work. Get your car out to the track for testing. GTECH's and the others suck, and arent accurate

If I had a chance, I'd pick one up for $25 or so from ebay just to toy with :rlaugh:

With a track temp of 118* my car ran a 15.32 @ 90.2 when it was stock other than weld in flowmasters.

yeah though I see them go for cheap quite often on ebay. I've been eyeing them :rlaugh:

I wouldnt mind getting one for cheap & trying it out at the track to see if it really works. If it matches the tracks ET & mph, then u know it works.....& 15.2 for a stock-ish auto NPI on street tires sounds about right imo...

though they have new and improved designs ;)

Seriously though, I wouldn't mind giving it a shot just to see how far off it really was. I mean.. it wouldn't be bad if it was .1 off

There is hope for that vert yet. I put down a 14.99 as my quickest time the last race season with just the mods listed below. I am planning on 4.10's and new axles and sub frame connectors before next race season and I think it will put me in the low 14's if not better.

Ya, and 10 years ago computers were VERY different.

LOL, you take your gtech, Ill take my HRP. 10 years ago, computers were not that much different. With the exception in the increased reliabilty and adjustability of some hand held tuners, the same software has been around for years. Ive been in the mod motor seen for 10 years, and have yet to see anything from years away that shocks me. Same stuff, just more user friendly.

See ya at the track....oh wait, you wont have a time slip...... CMON, have we really resorted into believing plug in HP/TQ/0-60/quartermile time calculators.

Actually G-Techs are very accurate if the road is flat. I have an old one from back in 2000ish and I took it to the track with me one day and set it up before I did my run. It was always with in .1 of the track time, now the MPH is off but they even tell you that, its usually 5-6mph high.

If you race on a road with any type of slight hills it will throw the time off. There is a road that I've been racing on since I got my car that is very flat and its .2-.3 off compared to what I run at the track.

yea thats what i was thinking. but look at ur 60' 2.4 is horrible thats why ur times are so crappy. stall it up a lil bit and launch it hard on better pavement and then ur times should show a lil better. but for a basically stock auto npi 15.2 is about what u should run. some of the stock 5spd guys can get high 14s but ur about right for ur mods.

oh and i tested my car with one not too long ago never ran the 1/4 cause i didnt want to go that fast on public roads but 0-60 was 5.4 seconds and 1/8th was a 9.0 at 81 but my 60' was a 2.2 i couldnt get it to launch hard enough on that pavement.

I picked mine up for like 45 bucks back in high school from ebay. Never been to the track but it has always seemed pretty close to what my car "should do". If nothing else its a cool gadget to have in the window. Looks like I have 2 radar detectors:nice:

you can use it to see if your mods improved your car,or you can practice on your 60'. may not be deadnuts on, but should show improvement. autometer sells on that is 2 1/16 guage size for like 159.00,cool toy anyway
