I need to find a site that has a Mach 1 technical spec review and that mentions the Mach 1 comes with a cable clutch and not a hydraulic. I found a few sites but none of them said anything about the clutch. It's to prove my friend wrong :p Anybody? Thanks

Well hell, open the hood and show him the cable. If that's not quite enough, pull the inspection lid thingie off of the transmission (near the bottom, driver's side, follow the clutch cable back to it, one bolt holds it on) and he'll be able to see, feel and touch the cable and see it attaching to the clutch fork.

Well it's a girl, one of my best friends it's her Mach, and she's pretty smart about Mach's but just didn't know about it having a clutch cable, a while ago I also figured it woulda been hydraulic since it's a new car but I found out they all have cables myself....I popped her hood and went to show her the cable but she didn't want to get out and look so I wanted to find it in writing.

Well it wasnt long before Ford removed all cables from the Stang - in 05 they did away with the clutch cable and the throttle cable.
A couple weekends ago, I was helping a friend who works for the local Ford dealership move the new cars around their lot as we were preparing for a Mustang show that weekend. I drove a new Supercharged Saleen Mustang, although I never got out of 1st gear. But I was amazed at how light the clutch pedal is...REALLY light...and, unfortunately, hardly any 'feel' to it. I guess you'd get used to it, but it was strange...

You are right, but I don't think I'll ever get used to the hydraulic feel ('none') over the cable. I had an '07 and put 25k on it, now the '08 Bullitt and it just never seems right. Everytime I jump in the Mach1 and take-off I feel right at home with the clutch feel, stiffer or not.

Then, I think back to the early style with linkage rods, man, talk about stiff, feel was great too, and very positive on engagement/disengagement, the cable isn't quite that but way closer than the hydraulic.
