LEFT COAST
My buddies finally convinced me to take the notch out to the track & I am very pleased with the results.

My best pass was....

12.97 @110.5mph

with a crappy 1.93 60ft.

This was only my 2nd time ever running any of my cars at the track, & only my 1st time running a car on full slicks, but I must say I am happy with the outcome of my 1st time out in the notch. A little work on my 60 ft, & I can see the times getting a bit quicker.

BUT, since I knew there was more in it, I let my buddy who is much more experienced run it, & his time was...

12.75 @110.06

with a 1.75 60ft

I know these are not amazing times, but for a stock bottom end HCI 302 with no suspension mods, I think there not too shabby...

well done. our notches even have similar power, i guess that gives me an idea what i would run. sorry to hijack, but i got a question for ya..

i want the same brake setup as you. i'm against the fence on doing the 5 lug or 4 lug upgraded brakes. i think im just gonna go 5-lug so it "looks" better.

anyways, did you use 94-95 front spindles? what did you go with for axles, ranger length? did you use the north racecar brackets or alternates on the rear? if you dont mind giving me a break down.

mainly just bashing my head in the wall on the rear setup. front is pretty cut/dry.

Very good times! I have only had a 2.0 60ft cause I suck I guess :(

Then again I have never ran slicks...

Thanks bro...

Might as well go 5 lug if you are gonna upgrade the brakes IMO.

My setup consist of:

=94/95 spindles
=04 Cobra front brakes
=Ranger axles & drums (for now)

Eventually, I will be going with a rear disk setup, but will most likely stick with smaller rear brakes so i can run 15" wheels out back. I will be using NRC brackets in the rear as well.

I am also still running the stock booster & MC, but i will be upgrading to 93 Cobra parts eventually...

i forgot you had drum stuff. i promise i wont copy your wheels atleast, but i am planning the same cobra f/r brakes :D

guess i've spent all my hours reading for the right parts. except i have a v6 booster/mc i got for free, along with the spindles :nice: he is takin the car to the junkyard, i might be able to snag ya the rear calipers/rotors if you want them?

let me know, im heading up to get some more parts off it tomorrow.

Thanks, yeah I might want those...

its a 10.5" rotor, should clear 15" stuff fine. i will grab it for you if he lets me take it. although its probably a wash paying my shipping cost compared to taking it from a junkyard lol.

the car only had 30k miles, so it is all good/useable. ill let you know.

Thanks bro... PM me when you get the brakes...

That's about what mine ran with my 351 heads and X cam. I was going 1.9s on crappy drag radials and going 12.8. I can't wait to get mine out this spring and see what the stroker can do.

Also, it's BS that you're racing already. Do you live in California or something?

Not too shabby?? That is great! Those are excellent times man! A lot of mostly stock foxes over here are running mid 13's maybe high 13's. 300rwhp in a notch is always a lot of HP for the car. My tuner always told me a 300RWHP notch will run with your(well, my old 96 Cobra). That ran 12.53@114 with a 1.88860 ft. This was on Nitto's launching at idle and I had 414RWHP.

Nice times again bro.

Great ET Bro first time with the Notch! real good MPH:nice: bet u had fun so much dam snow here ....when the tracks open this spring im making alotta passes!

Thanks a bunch guys... I am pretty pleased to hit 12's my 1st time out, just gotta get that launch down. I was launching @ 5k, BUT, I need to get my clutch/gas timing down & I will see better 60's....
