I kow there's lots of bad luck with running 9s up front, but Macnblackstang told me that his pre-91 with newer fenders gives proper clearance for his. When he said that, it made me think.

Just trying to see if anyone with 91-93 stangs have run 17x9s up front without any rub problems and without rack limiters. I am thinking of putting 9s on mine and want to see how everyone else is faring.

Got Cobra R's all the way around also, with 245 tires.
With the stock K-member never had any trouble.
When I changed K-members(went to a QA1) had to trim the front fender alittle bit.
Oh ya its an 87gt, but I have 92 fenders. Had to replace the fender because of rust, not because of the rims.

I run 17x9s with 275/40R17s all the way around on my '92 LX Vert. One of the fronts (the driver's side I think, I can't remember) rubs ever so slightly at full lock. I'm running OE Concepts Cobra Rs and Nitto 555 tires. Nittos are smaller than most other brands in the same size, so a different brand 275 may rub more severely. I didn't have to modify anything. The rears have been more trouble than the fronts for me. I had to re-align my MAC catback so that the tires didn't rub on the pipes and I may have to roll the lip of the wheel well on the quarters (they rub pretty bad on the rear in a hard corner). You certainly shouldn't have any trouble getting a 255 on a 17x9 to fit on the front. I doubt they'll rub at all.
