I'd say a PIE connector, but I don't think it would work in your situation. Might just have to go FM modulated.

I used the PIE connector with my XM, but it should work with an iPod, mini-disc, portable mp3 player or other inputs. Here's the link to my installation:

You can toggle between the CD player and PIE input (XM for me) by pressing the CD button on the Mach 460. I think the PIE connector that I have on my 02 may also work for the 01.

Also, you should hook up an inline volume control (Radio Shack) to balance the input so that the volume is about the same as your CD/radio. You just need to balance it once and leave it set.

I just wasn't sure if it would work since he had the in-dash CD changer. I remembered you did it in your setup, but I wasn't sure if you had the indash or not. Looks like it would work after all. Off topic, but for the XM tuner, did you buy the IP-BUS to RCA connector or hack an IP-BUS cable? I have it FM modded right now, because my SHO's HU doesn't have an AUX input, but when I move it back to the stang, I want to run the RCA's instead. Every place I've looked has the IP-BUS adapter for about $30-40 and I was going to try to do it cheaper. Just another thing to play with.

I bought the IP-BUS adapter for $30.
I used to live in Woodridge Center, but I got tired of the winters.

I tested my mini-disc in my Mustang yesterday. It worked fine with the PIE and an inline volume control to limit the output.
