Ok if anyone can answer these for me that would be great.
1. With a 2.80 upper blower pulley should I get an idler kit to reduce slippage?
2. With an idler kit can I keep my blower cover on? I heard it couldn't stay on due to clearance issues.
3. Should I do an upper or lower pulley for the 4lbs i want? I have heard uppers cause more slippage and lowers run the accessories harder.
4. What kind of rw gains will I see with the +4lb pulley?

Thanks

Well, if u r going with a 2.8 upper, u will almost definitely need an aux idler. 100mm would be best. There will definitely be major slippage w/out idler. I was running for about a week w/out the idler and u can just see the belt dust accumulate, and also on the dyno above 5000 rpm my boost dropped almost 2lbs because of the slippage. The blower cover will not fit with the aux idler....most idler kits use or cover the spots where the bolts for the cover went. I would go with upper blower pulley with a 100mm idler....u can also replace lowers to compensate and help reduce slippage....RPM outlet has a great kit that even comes with a pulley puller to help get the blower pulley off. I saw about 50-60 rwhp gains with my setup. It will definitely be something u notice....and the whine of the s/c will be enough to want to keep the gas pedal to the floor 24/7. Good luck and let us know what u go with. :nice:

i have the 2.8 from rpm outlet(non slip). i dont have the idler because i like my pulley cover. i do get some belt dust but not much. while on the dyno i didnt show any boost loss, maybe alittle at the very top. lost about 10 hp at the most. but i dynod at 441hp and 481tq. all i have is the 2.8, predator, stingers, and densecharger. im gonna switch cai to a powerstack filter and play with the predator next time. i know it has alot more in it. which ever way you go, you wont be disapionted.

Thanks a lot for the help guys. These were questions I needed answers to and I got them.
I have decided on a 2.80 upper pulley and an idler. It will be getting tuned on a Mustang Dyno with a Pro-M chip.
Thanks Again. :nice:

Hey Travis...How do u like your setup (Bassani O/R with magnaflow) I have the bassani O/R with Borla C/B and it is raspy as hell. I was wondering if the magnaflow sounded nice or if u still get that raspy sound. Let me know cuz I am thinking about switching.
All you need is cats. I have run mine with and without the cats....World of difference. Does the O/R bassani have race pipes that can be xchanged for cats? If it does just spring for cats, that should make you happy.

Yes, the o/r bassani has race pipes that unbolt and swap for the included cats. if you didn't buy them, you can buy the bassani cats for $135 for the pair.

without cats and with the magnaflow cat-back it does not sound raspy at all, very quiet at low rpms and cruising... very enjoyable... and loud under hard throttle... I love it and think it is absolutely perfect. My flowmasters were loud as hell even at slow driving and very raspy with loud pops.... reminded me of old time glass packs. I wrote a review listed on the first page :)
