whats up guys? I'm new to this forum.. been reading for a long time figured id join.. I have a 01 cobra and the wheel hop is very bad.. i was wondering if any of you guys have done anything to reduce wheel hope... I'm not ready to go to a solid axle right now anybody have any suggestions? IRS brace, polyurethane bushings, springs, subframe bushings,?? would this stuff work??

The IRS brace upgrade, poly bushing kit from steeda works well... and full length subframe connectors will do the job quite well.... I would not put slicks on these IRS systems... kaboom! They are breaking like crazy... those that need slicks should consider live axles... IMHO... The IRS is made for awesome road course use... not really for the strip...

I see you have 4.10s.... I wonder how the IRS holds up to this? I imagine some nasty wheel hop...

Does anyone know if the ford dealers put on upgraded bushings, like the steeda kit?

Anyone with an 03/04 have 4.10s or 4.30s???

The IRS w/4.10 should be ok for a while, unless you're launching on slicks.

Upgrade all the bushings!

The only thing to really minimize the wheel hop in the IRS cars is to replace the LCA bushings with delrin, the IRS subframe bushings with poly, and firm springs and shocks. The solid or poly differential mount bushings do very little, since the majority of the hop is caused by horizontal movement of the subframe and lower control arms.
