yesterday I had a full tank of gas, and was sitting in rush hour traffic. After about 3 min of traffic I notice the gas warning was on and the fuel gauge was on E. After about 8 more min in traffic, tha light goes off and the fuel gauge rises right back up to F, where it should be.
I was on level ground the whole time.

Is this an indication my fuel level sensor or fuel pump or other lager problem may be on their way out?

Where did you get your gas? We've had a problem around Kentucky here
lately with high sulfer content in the gas. Ashland Oil has admited to the problem and is willing to reimburse individuals that have had to fix their cars.
The high sulfer content has been leaving deposits on the gas level sending unit(don't know the technical name), and people are running out of gas left and right because their gas gauge quits working.

I know the problem has spread from Kentucky to parts of Canada and Ohio I think.

Could be a short. New car, low miles... that's when you get all the gremlins.
If it happens again take it back to the dealer. Just make sure you document what happened, when, and under what circumstances. I really wouldn't worry too much about it unless it becomes a cronic problem, but in that case the dealer shouldn't have a problem figuring it out. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Dont remind me...i currently have a laundry list of 5 seperate problems (like door panels installed improperly (mounting clips are broken/cracked off)..tranny grind...bad suspension clunks)) I have noticed. I have taken it in twice to some $%^ local dealership (bought the stang out of town to get best price :D ) who have blown me off twice.
Just talked to Frod Customer Service last week about them and left some not so nice comments w/Ford :nice: , so I will probably end up going back to the purchasing dealer 1.5hrs away where I know they will treat me right.

I need to get my warranty work squared away so I can start the power mods!!

I'm not too concerned about the gas, if it happens again I will probably ask the dealership.
