I have a 2004 V6. It has a Mach 460 sound system. I will changing my factory radio and adding a Pioneer 850, 1200 Concept amp and 2 900w Fusion subs. I got the Radio dash kit. Its made for the 2004 Stang. I got a harness and the guy there said I had to cut and splice wires and the harness basically only works the power wires? If this is true would you tech guys respond with the wire color code. My baby is to important to me! I won't go in there and start cutting wires.

Please Help

ok basically this is what you need to know about the mach 460 audio.

1) your existing headunit is an unamplified unit. if you put an amplified unit on there, you wlil f*** up your amps
2) you will void the warranty on your entire system, especially if you cut the wires. go to best buy or wherever and get yourself a reverse harness adapter. it plugs in like your mach headunit, and then gives you the standard colored wires. that way you don't cut off the harness, and if your amps mess up you can take it back to ford with your mach headunit in there and theyll fix it. you can remove everything.

Now, the thing about the unamplified output. It will not work putting an amplified output going to it. You have to get yourself a converter that will turn the amplified signal into unamplified. You are looking close to $130. This is the ONLY way it will work. Also, because of the fact that you're going to an unamplified signal, you won't tell a difference in the amplification off your speakers. You may get a slightly clearer sound, but that's it.

Personally, I don't think it's worth it. I was going to do it, then I found all that out, screw it. You can get this aux line in kit that hooks up to the back of your unit, so you have 3 RCA inputs on it. It makes the headunit think that it's connecting to an external CD changer. I hooked my XM commander up to that.
