I decided to replace the lower intake gaskets to see if that was where my manifold leak was, and when I got everything back together it fired up, and idles slightly worse, and if you WOT in gear it sorta shudders as the rpms rise and they rise SLOOOWWW I feel like a 17 second car. I dont see any leaks and everything was connected how I took it off. what is up.....I was thinking mabye I should reset the comp (unhook batt) or mabye I busted an injecotr during the process and it is either open or closed.....what else should I look for....? Mabye I fouled some plugs? this sucks....

sounds like a vacuum leak

I was thinking this too but I connected everything back right ....I hope :( It doesn't happen when the car is in nuetral and I rev it up. The car also misses bad while just cruising at a constant rpm.

This is a stupid question but on my kirban AFPR do I turn the screw in for more pressure and out for less? My AF guage is pegged rich at idle but when I unturned the screw 3 rotations it didnt change. dont have a guage at the moment.

Come on guys help me out. I tried disconnecting the battery and it didnt help. The promblem is worst when I am trying to stay at a constant speed (ie not accelerating). It stutters and shakes. under hard accerartion it seems to be struggling and I can still feel a bad viration but not like when staying constant. I checked plugs and they are a little foul from running rich for a month but nothing too bad.
ALSO today I was driving and I popped my hood to see if mabye my balancer was going and there was coolant coming from the back of the passenger side of the intake. It seems to be coming from right under the elbow. The only things there are those hard metal lines and the intake itself. I was thinking mabye the metal got punctured somehow or mabye the intake wasnt sealed right. well I let it sit and dried it up and took it for another spin for 15 mins and it was dry??#$% what is going on with my car.....

One other thought....I put the ditrubtor back in right but I was thinking mabye I put it in and it was on a different tooth then when I took it out. there really is no way to get it abck in EXACTLY how it comes out. It isnt 180 degrees out or anything.

Check your hoses on the firewall and see if they are tight if they are you may have a lower leak. Did you use the right torque and pattern to put it back? Did you move the lower around and disturb the gaskets? Turn your screw in to add more pressure and A/F meters are junk unless they are wideband so you are not getting an accurate reading. Are you wired correctly? Sounds like a miss to me.

It feels like a miss, but the only wires disturbd from before when it ran semi-fine was the distrubtor and mabye 4 sensors I had to disconnect during the process. They are all hooked up fine now. I used the tourque pattern TRICKFLOW provides but I dont have a torque wrench here at the house so I was going till they were tight tight. I did it in increments for 3 full patterns.

No.... but if you have a small coolant leak it more than likely is getting into your cylinders. You need to get a torque wrench so you can have a nice seal. I bet the torque values on your bolts are off a good 10ft-lb at a minimum.

I was thinking mabye it was getting in the cylinders too but shouldnt I see some white smoke? I havent seen any yet.... The book says to get them to 22 ft/lbs. and I guess mabye I should go get a wrench and redo :( $^$#@% I just wish this would solve the shudder problems becuase even if I solve the leak the car is practically undrivable.....

What length breaker bar are you using????

I could almost guarantee you are not at 22ft-lbs.

And you wont necessarily see white smoke at idle. Actually... you will rarely see white smoke at idle... normally it happens at wide open.

I am using a wrench and 8 inch extension and I did them untill I couldnt anymore....I didnt have the cash for a torque wrench and my friend who has a nice one was in vegas....

But would the shddering has been happening for a few days and the collant leak started this afternoon, could they still be related? I had a friend folowo me hoem today after the leak and he didnt mention any smoke and I was giving her gas becuase if I stay at any rpm without acclertating the car shakes bad...
