Well I figured out I cant use the TPS like you can on a fox so what is the best way to raise the idle on our cars? Currently idling rough at about 600 rpms and I would like to be idling more like 800 or 900. Thanks,
Back the idle screw out on the TB until the car idles where you want. This is not a permanent solution however. The computer will eventually bring the car back to the stock idling RPM, whatever that may be (650?).
What did you do to the car to make it run rough? What happened between the time that it was idling fine, until it started idling like crap?
Well the car has always idled lower than I thought it should. It idles at like 600 and then once and a while it drops just a little to like 500 and feels like its close to dying. I think it may have something to do with my voltage because when the voltage drops so does the idle. But not sure.
When I redid the exhust on my cobra i had to up the idle a little and ended up with the idle right around 700 rpms. She would idle a little lower but started to not sound good so i left it at about 700. all I did was fiddle the idle screw till i got it where i wanted and she still idles right where i left her....cept when its cold....she hates the cold.
So the idle screw is the best way to do it? I'll have to try that, hope it works. I want mine to idle just high enough to when it drops like it does it wont feel like its going to die.
I was under the impression that you could only do that with the fox body TPS sensors because ours correct them selves when ever you start the car. I could be wrong though.
