OK...maybe sombody can help set me straight. For some reason I thought that the new mustangs should be hitting the showroom floors today, September 7. I went down to the dealer after calss and they said it wouldnt be getting there for a while. They said about a month for the V6 and about four months for the GT!!! Aren't next year models usually on the floor earlier then that? Sombody, anybody give me an answer please...i want to test drive one! :bang:

Today, September 7, is the date of "Job 1", which means when the first of the 2005 Mustangs will roll off the assembly line (they were actually started late last week). September 29th is the date that they should appear on dealer's lots (according to Brad Barnett's "TheMustangSource.com".

Today is the day they start building them, by the end of the month some dealerships will have 1 or 2 available, some won't. We live in the same area, I'd bet that Sanderson Ford might be one of the dealerships that will have them available sooner rather than later. In any event any of the larger dealers will get them before smaller dealers, so if it's not Sanderson my next guess would be Earnharts..

Actually, small numbers of production 2005 Mustangs have been built over the last 3 weeks.

Today, Sept 7, Job 1 is the "official" start of production, even though there have been 300 or more prototypes and pilot run 05 stangs built prior to today.

Today is when they try to start ramping the line up to full speed. AAI is scheduled to build 44,000, 2005 Stangs between today and the end of the year.

I'd say look for a 2005 Mustang at your friendly local Ford dealer on September 27. That is the day of the "official" introduction of the 2005 Stang. Ford is allocating 2 - '05 Stangs to small dealers and 3 to larger dealers. Word is that Ford is going to try to get at least 1 - 05 Stang to every dealer for the Sept 27 intro date.

Sorry but you probably have 3 more weeks to wait.
